Get Your Favorites Before They're Gone!

Starting next year, CTMH will be going to a semi-annual Idea Book (two-times a year) - there will be MORE pages 136 (versus the current 112). CTMH will be expanding the great new product offerings...I don't have all the details...only that these will be paper kits, stamp sets and accessories everyone will love to create with.

CTMH is making preparations for the transition from the current Idea Book format to the new format...the Retired List is part of that preparation. You may notice several "newer" papers and embellishments and wonder what that means for the future of paper collections at CTMH...here are some tidbits to help you understand.

New products sell best - when an Idea Book goes live and during the time consultants use it at home gatherings & for clubs & workshops, the current paper packs are by far the sales superstars.
After a paper pack phases out of the NEW section and moves to the EXISTING section, it becomes highly unpredictable.
By removing existing papers and older products, this makes room for NEW and EXCITING items including artwork, techniques and new products!
Longer LIVE time - starting with the Spring 2011 Idea Book, paper packs will "live" in them for 6 months...and...after that...it's our understanding they will be available while supplies last - a very different approach than what you are currently used to.
CTMH is committed to CLASSIC scrapbooking & paper usage - yes, Studio J is here to stay and retired papers will be available through Studio J...yet, CTMH remains firmly committed to bringing you the high-quality papers you love.
We'll have to rethink "retired" - rethinking means we'll bid a brisk farewell to kits to make way for new. I've posted the most recent Retired List on my blog:

I love this paper pack with its great colors. Featured colors are creme brulee, garden green, tulip and brown stazon ink. The stamp set in this kit is so adorable with birds, flowers and an adorable saying. Not to mention that the filigree charms are included to. And I'm throwing some paper flowers for embellishing into the mix as well. $37.50 + tax/shipping.

This is my final result using the Felicity Layout for the upcoming class. Instead of using the traditional 5/7 photos I choose to use a combination of wallets that worked out quite well. I'm happy with this cute layout of my babies, who are definately not babies anymore!

Well it's been quite the month...laying in bed most of the time with this back of mine. It's good they think I don't need surgery and I've got new meds. that at least allow me to be up and around. I do feel like I'm missing out on so many things though. Well I did get a little bit creative last night and made some quickie cards. Of course I distressed and blinged up a bit but they are from the latest card kit from CTMH called Bits and Pieces. The kit makes 12 cards for only $15.50.

Well this weeks workshop was using "Sweet Home" as our paper pack. For some reason it was crying heritage pictures to me so I went digging in my basket of photos that my dad had and came up with this from the 2nd world war time. I don't know what made me think of these old photos but they seem to work. I hope you like!

Well I've been distracted from making cards. I've finally got a project done that has been on my list for 2 years. Nothing like the beginning of a new year to get you inspired. I finally got the stairwell and small room below it painted the same color as my studio space. I'm so happy that's finally done and I didn't fall off the ladder and break something. Painting tall ceilings on a ladder on the stairs is never fun.

On this card we used cocoa and white cardstock. Cocoa ink, embossed some of the stems with white daisy embossing powder. This stamp set is one of my favorites and will be retired the end of December. It's called Winter Wonder. So if you want one better order soon @ www.alicenewbery.myctmh.com

This one is using "Jingle" paper pack. 3 circles (2 run through the Cuttlebug) to give some texture and the finished of with Joy from the stamp set called Holiday Jingle.

This was my sample card using sparkle embossing powder. When we did the class we used white daisy ink and white daisy embossing powder which really made the saying pop on the card and look much better.

Well I've been in a crafty mood today after helping people make their Christmas Cards yesterday. It was fun and took a bit longer than we had anticipated. Oh well, time flies when your having fun.

Well the month of September is almost over. It has been a crazy busy one for me. Lots of gatherings on the go, home gatherings, a new club started and just life in general. Our 1st club was a success. We ended up making a two page spread and one of the suggested cards with the gals going home with left over goodies to make more layouts or cards.

Next month was a unanimous yes for "Jingle". This is our newest Christmas themed paper, thinking outside the box with some great colors such as Juniper, Hollyhock, Tulip and Creme Brulee. Doesn't that sound yummy!
We have picked a date of October 25 for next months club meet.

Well back to packing up my stuff for tomorrow's show. Last one for the month of September.

My workspace....yes this place is messy but that is the way it usually looks. As soon as I clean it up (which I do before classes/workshops) I can't find anything, lol. It doesn't stay tidy for long as I pretty well utilize all my space when I'm working.

Well I got together with a dear friend today to complete some projects and ended up buying her (new to me camera). Finally a SLR, can't wait to play outdoors tomorrow and try it out. We are supposed to have rain but hopefully not all day. I promise to take care of your "previous baby".

Well it seems people are in the mood for making Christmas cards. I've only posted this class a few days ago and it's almost full. Looks like I've got a lot of paper cutting to do..........if anyone is interested this class is on National Card Making Day which is October 3rd and you can do either 25 cards for $30.00 or 50 for $45.00. 5 0f 5 different designs and 10 of 5 respectively. Should be lots of fun! If I fill and have a wait list I will do another one, date to be announced.
